Cooperation without borders
Stowarzyszenie Szklany Mur from Poland and the “La Garriga” Association from Spain on the way to the concept of a sheltered flat for people with autism.
Cooperation between partners of a mobility project may go beyond the scope of its implementation. This was proven by employees of the “Szkalny Mur” Association, who thanks to one of the projects visited the Association „Autisme la Garriga”, located near Barcelona.
It is an international center that ensures stay, work and rest for adults with autism. Autisme la Garriga is the fruit of the initiative of several fathers and mothers who in the mid-seventies and with the help of a team of professionals designed it. From the beginning, the project has been designed so that people with the autism spectrum can enjoy a normal life.
To find out more about the project, the clinical psychologist, co-founder of the „Autisme La Garriga”, Francesc Cuxart, was invited to visit the Szkalny Mur” Association. On the occasion of this meeting, one of his articles about adult people with autism and ways of help, was translated.
We are very happy that Universal Mobility can cooperate with such wonderful institutions and be witness the development of new initiatives. Good luck in further project implementation!
